Chemical Regulation

We will monitor how animal welfare is prioritised in relation to the transition to UK chemical regulation post REACH. We will seek to highlight and work with animal protection groups to address the current threat to animals of duplicate testing in order to access the UK market. We will also monitor how well UK REACH achieves the key aims of the current EU REACH system of the “last resort” principle on animal testing and to minimise animal testing by promoting the use of alternative methods of safety assessment.
