Join our efforts to raise the profile of animal law around UK campuses by joining our Student Group today!

Advantages of membership include:

  • Free e-copy of Journal of Animal Law (worth £35 p.a);
  • Free or discounted registration for A-LAW events and training;
  • A-LAW volunteering opportunities (where available);
  • Monthly animal e-news, including updates, news, opportunities and more;
  • Opportunities to learn about animal protection law
  • Opportunities to write for our news site
  • Join a supportive, like-minded network of animal advocates; and more!
  • We invite Student Members to write an account of their activities for publication on our Animal Law News, social media platforms, promotional materials, or student resource documents
  • Eligibility to apply for an Animal Law Achievement Award, issued to students who make an exceptional contribution by writing, awareness raising on campus or volunteer work.

Student Member Advocacy Suggestions:

  • Raise awareness about A-LAW and animal law on campus
  • Distribute leaflets, posters and other information about A-LAW’s work and student activities, such as our mooting and essay writing competitions
  • Host events, debates and activities about animal protection law and ethics
  • Fundraise for A-LAW and local animal charities
  • Arrange visits to a local animal sanctuary
  • Write blogs or articles for A-LAW or other publications about animal law, ethics, policy, welfare and/or rights
  • Create social media posts about animal law updates and news
  • Listen to A-LAW’s podcast and write summary or opinion pieces for social media or publications
  • Watch A-LAW’s YouTube channel and write summary or opinion pieces for social media or publications
  • Tag A-LAW in your social media advocacy so we can reshare to spread the word
  • Get involved in university law clinics pertaining to animal law
  • Get involved with student societies or start your own student society for animals
