Domestic Abuse

It is not uncommon for animals to be used as a means of coercive control in domestic abuse situations. Animals are not only victims of such abuse, who are deserved of protection, but their abuse may be a red flag that other members of a household are at risk.

We aim to work with animal groups and professionals to raises awareness about the link between animal cruelty and abuse to others within households. Our podcast episode with Dr Samantha Pickles (scientist) and Rachel Horman-Brown (solicitor) discusses this topic in more depth. Warning content is distressing.
